Celebrate Your Dreams!

Hi beauties!

Hope all is well?

I wanted to stop and share with you this moment in my life.  I moved to Oklahoma almost 5 years ago and needless to say it has not been easy at all! Lol (now I can laugh, it wasn't lol then) After arriving things went completely differently as planned or did it? The reason why I proposed the question is because it went exactly as God planned.  Out of my pain He birth His will for my life. I remember being a teenage girl and having a dream of a store and in the dream I knew it was mine but there was not a salon in sight.  Now 46 that dream is a reality. I can say this because I was 19 years old when I started my career as a stylist.  Let me bring you current. During my stay in Oklahoma it has been some of the most difficult times in my life. All I had was $50 and a dream, that dream has grown but the process was extremely difficult because I had no point of reference.  No one I knew was doing what God was calling me to do.

I would walk through building my dreams crying, praying, wanting to quit, and then start that process all over again.  I have been criticized until this day.  Many people decided that for whatever reason they didn't like me and walked away.  Can I just tell you in the midst of all of that I had to cry behind close doors and then walk out the door looking fashionable.  When life gets ugly, I have learned you get cute! Why do I feel like being ratchet when I say that! Yaaassss! Sometimes, getting ready would change my outlook because I had the power to make my own day! Did you know that you have the power to change your day? One day a few months ago I decided you know, 'I am going to celebrate my dreams.' The day that I started the Beauty Lounge was in December.  I moved into my store last year in April, but I decided that I would create a day where I celebrate my own dreams.  It didn't matter if people showed up or not this moment was no longer about anyone else but rather it was about me celebrating the fact that I am still standing! It may be on one foot but baaaabbbby (drag that out when you read it) lol ...I declared that I was going to celebrate getting my dreams back on track! So, I didn't have any money.  I had very little product in my store but I was determined to have myself a Girls Day Out! A day to celebrate!

I prayed and said, Daddy (Lord) I don't know how I am going to do this but I faith in you. Lord, I am asking that you celebrate with me! I ministered at a Women's Conference a few weeks ago and left there feeling better than I have felt in quite some time. I knew that God has done something in me.  A few days passed and the Lord begin to open up doors for me to get more, and more, product! What, Lord you are with me? What I learned is that you don't have to wait on anyone else, you don't have to wait until New Years but that you can decide a day to celebrate your own dreams.  I must tell you that I am overwhelmed that after making the decision that women and teens from everywhere decided to join me on this day! I learned that when you begin to celebrate your life and dreams that God will send others to join you! Women begin to say to me that they were inspired to live their dreams.  So, what I thought originally was about my moment turned out to be for others as well...how powerful is that! Beauties, you may not be where you want to be or have everything that you want but in spite of it all CELEBRATE YOUR DREAMS! There is more to it than you think!

I am Beautifully Speaking,

Sonya
